The Problem

Too many places.
Never the full picture.

For years I tracked marketing activity across everything. Spreadsheets (always a fav), Asana, Notion — take your pick. Same problem every time: too many places, too many updates, always out of date.

Then add in new requests coming in from everywhere — email, Slack, WhatsApp, a tap on the shoulder. Half the job was just remembering where everything lived.

×Activities scattered across 4+ tools
×No single view of what was on and who was going
×Requests landing from email, Slack, WhatsApp, hallway conversations
×Always out of date by the time anyone looked at it
"No coding experience — just my mate Claude walking me through it."

What I Built

One calendar to solve it all.

I built a custom marketing calendar using Claude — no engineering team, no dev budget, no prior coding knowledge. Just a clear brief and an AI tool that could actually build it. V1 worked. Then I gave it an upgrade in the Canaries.

01
Every View You Need
View the calendar however makes sense for you. Every filter you could wish for — by channel, owner, status, quarter. See exactly what's on, who's attending, and what's still pending.
02
A Request Button That Works
The team puts forward activity through one button. It fires an email to me and a Slack DM to the decision makers automatically — with all the core details, no chasing required.
03
TAL Mapping on Event Requests
When requesting a third-party event, the team can upload last year's attendee list. It maps that list live against our target account list — giving a quick read on fit before it even lands in my queue.
04
Faster Decisions at Scale
This isn't about gatekeeping requests. It's about helping the team make sharper calls as we scale — improving speed to approval and making sure we're investing in the events that actually matter.

No code required.

I was spending time in the Canaries and gave the calendar a proper upgrade. The whole thing was built in conversation with Claude — I described what I needed, Claude built it, I gave feedback, we iterated.

If you've got a tool problem in your marketing team, you probably don't need a developer. You need a clear brief and a good AI tool.

How the build went
1Described the problem — what I needed, what wasn't working, what the ideal would look like
2Reviewed V1 — Claude built a working version I could test with the team
3Gave feedback, iterated — added the TAL mapping feature, refined the request flow
4Shipped it — the team uses it daily; part two on maximising post-event ROI coming soon

Build your own

I've shared the actual calendar app and the setup guide I used to deploy it. Upload both files to Claude, tell it your company name and the tools you're using, and let it configure and walk you through the whole thing.

It has everything: monthly, weekly, list, and year views; the Propose Activity form with Slack notifications; TAL matching on event requests; magic-link authentication so only your team can access it.

No coding. Just Claude, two files, and a few free tools to connect.

The Calendar Template

The actual calendar app — HTML, fully working in demo mode. Upload this to Claude and tell it your company name, admin emails, Slack webhook, and Supabase details. Claude will configure it for you.

The Setup Guide

Step-by-step instructions for deploying the calendar — Supabase tables, Netlify hosting, Brevo SMTP, Slack webhooks, and TAL upload. Upload this to Claude and it'll walk you through every step.
